BIO
Thiago was born in Brazil; son of a Spanish father and a Germany-descendent mother. His father is a self-made businessman and engineer, while his mother is a naturally-born creative and interior designer. Yin and Yang.
As a child Thiago had the privilege to attend a Waldorf school where he was coerced into a variety of craft activities. Sculpture, knitting, playing acoustic guitar in an orchestra, farming, carpentry, land surveying, welding, lithography printing, among other random things were a part of the curriculum. Older Thiago is grateful for those experiences. His younger self, not so much. Years later those experiences culminated into a deep passion for art and design. He often skipped class to “read” Lürzer’s Archive, and D&AD annuals at the university library. The love for craft drove him to join the Art Direction program at Miami Ad School - São Paulo, what consequently gave him the opportunity to come to the United States via an internship program.
The following 13 years were spent serving as an Art Director for agencies such as SuperTopSecret, TBWA\Chiat\Day, 72andSunny, and more recently the in-house marketing team at Riot Games. It’s where he has helped grow League of Legends Esports into a global premiere sport (helping Riot win its first Sports Emmy), where he led the brand development and creative campaign for Riot's anticipated shooter title VALORANT, and where he transitioned to a Creative Director role of marquee tentpole moments for League of Legends.
Today Thiago serves as Creative Director at Bungie, focusing efforts on the Destiny 2 and the future of the franchise.
In the past, he has collaborated with clients such as Google, Nixon, Grey Goose, Gatorade, University of Oregon, Nike, Disney, Jaybird, Ubisoft, and League of Legends Esports; with his main work philosophy being to collaborate with incredibly talented people, being a creative vision holder and helping define and redefine brands from the ground up.
When Thiago is not at his desk daydreaming, he’s likely to be found in the outdoors chasing perfect waves, fresh powder, or single-track mountain bike trails.
