Meet the Google App
Google went through a major rebrand in 2015, and one of their objectives was to have people try voice search for the first time as a new way to interact with Google Search. We were tasked at 72andSunny to launch the new Google App by inviting people to get familiar with voice search and be curious about the world around them. No matter where you end up, the Google App is the answer to your questions. One of our biggest challenges was to break the perception that speaking to computers didn’t feel natural at the time. Mind you, this was before the advent of Google Assistant, Alexa, and Siri. Our solution was to give life and personality to Google’s visual interface in the simplest way possible, as a way to humanize it.
We pitched “Meet the Google App”, an integrated campaign that invited people to be curious and talk to the Google colorful “dots” contextually, and to have the Google UI in the most universal way by taking the shape of answers.
